Introducing the Second Edition of the Wicked Truth!

In 2007, I published The Wicked Truth: When Good People Do Bad Things, a book inspired by my fascination with the Broadway musical Wicked and its presentation of deep, enduring moral questions.

Now, I am working on a second edition to coincide with the upcoming Universal Studios film adaptation, Wicked: For Good.

I wrote The Wicked Truth to be the thinking person's guide to the political, social, and historical overlaps between modern society and the mythical Land of Oz. The book challenges the very framework of our culture, our understanding of Good and Evil, and its application to everything from personal relationships to social formation and government.

The Second Edition not only updates its examples to reflect on the political turmoil of the last decade; it also expands the application of its insights. For the last 20 years, I've partnered with global peacebuilders to learn from their work in conflict transformation and trauma healing. The Wicked Truth now helps you put their learning into practice, showing you how to use this cultural touchstone to facilitate conversations about what matters most in your own community.
